FESTIVAL TOURS FOR S.U.T.

AST week, Sheffield United Tours.

Ltd., applied to the Yorkshire Licensing Authority for permission to run tours to Leeds and Hull during the Festival of Britain. The application was opposed by the Railway Executive.

The company had had many inquiries about tours facilities, said Mr. W. R. Hargrave, for S.U.T.. but nothing had so far been published about proposed railway services.

Mr. D. Rodgers, witness for the applicant, said that he did not suggest that there were not good travel facilities between Sheffield and Leeds, but those to Hull were "not so bright."

The application regarding Leads was withdrawn and the Executive withdrew its objection to the Hull tours. The revised application was granted.
