Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DHL SUPPLY Chain has been granted authority to base 100 vehicles and 65 trailers at the new Nisa-Today's operating centre on the Dean's industrial Estate in Livingston. West Lothian.

Nisa-Today's — the UK's largest buying group for independent retailers — has secured the 195,000ft2 warehouse site on a seven-year lease.

The depot, which opened in November as a crossdock operation, is expected to he fully operational in early 2011.

It will carry ambient, chilled and frozen goods to the group's members in the far north of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Nisa-Today's has an existing temperature-controlled warehouse in Stoke-on-Trent, an ambient warehouse in Scunthorpe and another facility in Harlow, Essex_ In September 2009, DHL successfully beat off competition from five rivals to win the seven-year, £500m unified distribution contract for NisaToday's.

John Sharpe, MD of central distribution trading and logistics at NisaToday's, says the site will mean fewer goods will need to be trunked to Scotland and the Irish ports.

It will ensure that we have the necessary capacity for future growth, enhance our service efficiency to members and allow us to handle regional products in Scotland," he adds.
