Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

VOSA says it wants to scrap bookings by post, email, fax and those made over-the-counter' for HGV tests in order to make the process faster and more efficient.

The government agency is proposing to offer customers just online and phone options instead, and says this will make it easier for industry to be compliant.

VOSA chief executive Alastair Peoples explains: "Enabling customers to book tests online and by phone will help us achieve this and ensure that our customers are receiving a high level of service."

VOSA says 40% of tests are booked online, with another 40% by phone and 20% by fax, email, post or over the counter.

The proposal, contained within an industry consultation, will not affect the way tests are booked at Authorised Testing

Facilities and Designated Premises James Firth. head of road freight policy at the Freight Transport Association, says: "This appears to represent a continuation of VOSA's attempts to control its costs and we are supportive.

"1 think it's important that VOSA has a clear view of what the impact of the changes will be."
