• The cost of MoT testing light goods vehicles will rise in the New Year following the re-introduction of diesel smoke checks on 1 February. Exhaust tests were dropped in January after some engines blew up during the high rev checks.
And Mel prices will rise to £27.94 from £26.50 for vehicles under 3.5 tonnes to cover the cost of garages modifying their equipment.
