SMALL TRANSPORT operators are more likely to be involved in local community events than their larger counterparts.

Research by Tenon Forum indicates that 71% of operators with a turnover of less than Elm like to get involved in local activities, compared with 56% of those with a turnover of £6-20m.

The support ranges from using local products and suppliers (82%) to sponsoring local charity events, teams and organisations (71%), while 64% rase funds for local charities and 61% donate employee time or company services. BUSINESS MOVES Group has bought nine Euro-4 Renault Trucks as replacements for some of its 35-vehicle fleet.

They comprise: two Renault Mascotts with crew/cabs; two Renault Midlum 190.08s with box bodies and tail-lifts: lour Renault Premium 240.18s with specialist boxes; and a Renault Master equipped to carry passengers.

All of the vehicles were supplied by Renault Trucks South.

Business Moves Group's operations manager Rick West says the company has always used Renaults and is happy with their performance and backup.
