• If I ever needed persuading that the Transport and General Workers Union was out of touch with the real world then its decision to hold a national go slow (CM, August 16) is it. Surely there has to be something daft with a protest against drivers' hours that will actually increase the driving time for TGWU members by going slower?
By all means object to the new drivers' hours — I'm not so sure that I want to spend any longer behind the wheel, but for goodness sake at least think of a protest that has some bite, this will simply not work.
