• The European Commission in Brussels and the Bonn Government are launching an investigation into the plans of the Daimler-Benz motor group to build a DM 1.8bn (S584m) car plant in Baden-Wuerttemberg, in the suspicion that help from the local state government might contravene competition and subsidy regulations in the Community.
