Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NEW REGULATIONS aimed at amending conditions of fit ness and use of new psv's come into force on August 26.

The Public Service Vehicles (Conditions of Fitness Equipment and Use-amendment) No 2 Regulations 1980 covers the adoption of ECE Regulations 36 as part option to Conditions of Fitness, and manufacturers will now be able to have vehicles type approved to this regulation.

It also includes vehicles which have been type-approved to EEC 71./320 relating to brakes which must conform to British Conditions of Fitness Regulation (1972) Nos 11, 13, and 17 and requirements in respect of the width of gangways for vehicles which have a front entry/exit and a central staircase are relaxed.

Outdated stipulations relating to side overhang and hub protection are deleted, a minimum height for entrance doors, and exits is required, and additional escape exits either ir the front, rear or roof are stipulated to ensure adequate escape routes if a vehicle falls on its side.

It allows a power-operatec door of two leaves to be opened one leaf at a time in certair circumstances, and permits thE use of breakable glass togethei with the provision of suitablE tools to break the glass in emer gency windows.
