Overall sales dropped only from 529 to 524, with British builders selling 509 (against 512), and importers 15 (against 17).
The biggest drops were at Leyland, from 408 to 323, Ford from 26 to 22, and Swedish Volvo from 17 to 10. On the other hand, Bedford is up from 36 to 73, Hestair Dennis from two to six (helping to boost employment at Guildford even before the massive South Yorkshire order is built), MCW from 31 to 81, and DAF, MAN, and Mercedes-Benz have come from nowhere tc sales of three, one, and one
