THE Lincolnshire Area Health Authority is using a unique vehicle for moving patients in new larger orthopaedic beds which are becoming standard throughout the UK.
The vehicle, a custom-built bon/an on a standard Ford Transit chassis, incorporates a Ratcliff RV500 tail lift with a 1066mm (42in) platform. The beds can be wheeled onto the platform and directly into the van where they are positioned for travelling, enabling patients to be moved easily and comfort ably
