Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

4 improved design of bus door, said to give the driver better visibility to nearside and to impose minimum ing on the operating gear, is des;c1 in patent No. 918,201. (Walter :ander and Co. Ltd., 91 Glasgow I, Falkirk, and W. Newgate, 12 ningside Place, Edinburgh, 10.) ie scheme is primarily intended to ,t to front-entrance buses having is described as a lie-back front, as ,n in the drawing. The door is

made in two leaves, hinged to each other along the line (1). The front leaf, the outline of which conforms to the body shape so as to permit the use of a slender corner pillar, is pivoted on a vertical post (2) mounted slightly to the rear of its foremost edge.

Linkwork enables the door to open by folding inwards in the middle and swinging on the vertical post, taking up a final position against the front of the body as indicated by the dotted lines (3). The rear leaf is made shorter than the front one, and when the door is open its free edge does not project so far into the driver's line of vision through the doorway as would be the case if the two leaves were of equal length.

A small window is provided in the lower part of the front leaf to give the driver better visibility on the nearside.
