Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANEW type of screw which is made by the Duro Dyne Corp. of America for fixing sheet metal and is marketed in Britain by Van Den Bosch Ltd., 76 Crown Road, Twickenham, Middlesex, requires no hole to be drilled for it to be fitted. The maximum thickness of metal on which the screw can be used is 14 s.w.g. The makers claim that it is possible to install 10 screws in a minute.

Duro-Dyne Drill Screws can be used with any high-speed low-torque drill, the only additional requirement being a magnetic chuck. This costs £2 5s. but is supplied free with each purchase of 17,000 screws. At the moment the only size of screw available is No. 7 by 0.5 in. long and these cost £2 I7s. 6d per thousand with a discount of 25 per cent on packs of 17,000. It is expected that a range of sizes will be available later in the year.

The screws have a special thread extending from the finely sharpened point to just under the hexagon head and this ensures full engagement with the metal without stripping. To use, the screw is dropped into the chuck, where it is held magnetically, and depressed firmly against the metal. The drill is started and as soon as the thread bites" the trigger is released, the drill's momentum tightening the screw.

As a trial offer, a magnetic chuck and a quantity of Duro-Dyne screws is being offered on seven days' free trial by the distributors.
