A COACH body designed for the

Bedford VAL chassis, and a new 36 ft. chassis shortly to be announced. is one of three new models now being introduced by Thomas Harrington Ltd. It is designated the Harrington Legionnaire, is of light alloy and steel construction, with an approximate weight of 3 tons 3 cwt and overall height of 9 ft. 8+ in., and seats 52 passengers. Equipment includes top sliding windows. Smith's Jet-Vent forced ventilation, and a combined heating and demisting system. Luggage capacity is 72 cu. ft. in the rear locker and 40 cu ft. in side lockers. Standard body price is £3.800.

The second of the new models is the Crusader Mark IV, designed for the Bedford SB, Thames p.s.v. or Commer Avenger chassis. Built to the dimensions of 30 ft. 5 in. by 4 ft. 21 in. by 9 ft. 8+ in. high, it seats up to 41 passengers. Construction is of composite lightweight framing giving an approximate body weight of 2 tons 10 cwt. and the rear luggage compartment has a capacity of 100 cu. ft. Double top sliding windows are provided, and the standard body price is £3,145 when mounted on a Bedford, and £3,180 for the Thames and Commer versions. Overall height of the Thames model is 9 ft. 11 in.

A 31-ft. 10-in, body with a seating capacity of 41/43, and suitable for mounting on 30-ft. A.E.C. Reliance or Leyland Leopard chassis is the third new model available. Named the Grenadier. 31 ft. 10 in., it is of light alloy and steel construction with an approximate weight of 2 tons 13 cwt. and overall height of 10 ft. 2 in. Unlike the other two models, fixed glazing is employed; the luggage locker capacity is 112 Cu. ft. Standard body price for the 41-seat version is £3,445.

Common to both the new Grenadier and the Crusader Mk. IV are the Smith's Jet-Vent system and combined heating and demisting units.

All three new models have been designed for the 1964 coaching season, and are in addition to the current range of bodies, which remain in production.
