Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

There were two makers of commercial motor vehicles whose works were situated within a dozen miles of one another in a, certain northern county. One was a large concern, and the other small. The workmen of the latter were very curious as to the extent and capacity of the former. On one occasion a lorry built by the smallar firm was indiscreet enough to break down near the large works, and had temporarily to be hauled in there out of the way. So soon as possible a man from the small firm went along to bring in the erring machine. On his return he was bombarded with questions from his fellow workmen as to the wonders he had seen on his travels, and particularly as to the size of the rival works. His reply, " Well, I thought it was bigger than it was, but it wasn't," has become a classic phrase in the works in question.
