injured in an accident involving an uninsured vehicle can, however, obtain compensation. Could you give me any more information on this matter?

AThe arrangement you refer to is an agree

ment made between the Secretary of State for Environment and the Motor Insurers' Bureau on February 1 1971. This agreement, which took effect from March 1 this year. replaced an earlier agreement on the subject.

The basis of the agreement is that damages, awarded by a court for death or personal injury as a result of a motor accident, which remain unpaid seven days after the judgment becomes enforceable will be paid by the Motor Insurers' Bureau (including any interest awarded by the court and the taxed costs) to the person in whose favour the judgment has been given.

A full text of the agreement is available from HMSO price 7p. Its title is: Mote Insurers' Bureau (Compensation of Victims c Uninsured Drivers).
