• A series of seminars on welding in motor body repair is currently being organized by ARO Machinery Co. Ltd, continuing until July. The seminars are in three courses; for foremen (one day), bodyshop apprentices (two days) and parts

tests of the equipment in the laboratory and fitted to V8-engined road vehicles. Two vehicles were initially tested on a route from Munich to Paris and each covered a distance of 100,000km. The vehicles have now completed 300,000 miles without attention to the shutters. More ,recently a vehicle equipped with a six-cylinder engine was tested on the Gross Glockner Pass, and the test showed that use of the shutters did not cause an excessive rise in temperature when the engine was operating at full load over an extended period. Use of the shutters eliminated the need for a line thermostat and expansion tank.

Kysor report that Scammell Lorries of Watford and Fodens of Sandbach are now fitting Kysor shutters to certain models in the companies' vehicle ranges.
