Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Queen's Award to Industry has been made to 1111 companies this year. The Awards, announced on Wednesday, the Queen's actual birthday, comprise 93 for export achievement, 13 for technological innovation and four for outstanding achievement under both criteria. For the first time, this year, the scope of the Award has been extended to include exporters of services and merchants. This has meant that there are rather fewer Awards for technological innovation than in. previous years.

The following concerns in the commercial vehicle and mechanical handling industries are recipients: Borg-Warner Ltd (transmission division); Coles Cranes Ltd; Cummins Engine Co Ltd; Dexion-Comino International Ltd; The Glacier Metal Co Ltd; Lancer Boss Group Ltd; Lansing Bagnall Ltd; Manchester Liners Ltd; United Transport Overseas Ltd.
