Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

'Thank goodness someone (the British consul in Bucharest, Romania) is at last trying to get clarification over an issue that is crucifying our international sector (CM 15-21 (Jct).

Transport bosses in this country have been increasingly— and illegally—employing cheap Eastern European drivers, slashing rates, which is threatening others who stick with British drivers. I have driver friends who have been turned away from their companies, some after years of service, only to be replaced by Romanians and Bulgarians who don't care a jot about service and company loyalty.

It now seems one small cog in Government has asked for a clear statement of the rules, and he should be applauded. Let's hope the British consul gets his answer soon from the London Home Office—before the industry as we know it is wiped out. Name and address supplied.
