Drum Up-ending Tailgate THE latest addition to the Hipope range of hydraulic vehicle loaders is the Drum Up-ending Tailgate. A feature of the loader is that a drum or barrel roiled onto the tailgate in the ground Position arrives at the level of the vehicle platform in the upright position. The reverse applies, naturally, when unloading.

The Tailgate is large enough to hold three 45-gal. oil drums, 'being 6-ft. wide by 3-ft. deep, capacities being from 10 to 30 cwt. Power is taken from a combined p.t.-o. and hydraulic pump unit mounted on the vehicle's gearbox and this operates one, two or three standard Hipope ram units according to the capacity. Manually-operated control valves allow for fine adjustment and the platform can be held firmly in any position. Damage through overloading is prevented by a relief valve. Fitting is said to be simple and current delivery is from two weeks of receipt of order.
