Better Year for Plaxton's: In the year ended August 31 last, Plaxton's (Scarborough) Ltd. made a gross profit of £161,587 (£140,015 in the previous year). Net profit amounted to £74,087 (£67,434) and the dividend of 19 per cent recommended by the board is 14 per cent higher than last year.
Argentine T.U. Leaders at Leyland: Four trade union leaders from the Argentine visited the Lancashire factories of Leyland Motors Ltd. last week, Included in their inspection were new vehicles for South America and the new Leyland L.60 multi-fuel engine.

Roates Recover: Following a net loss of more than £.15 m. in 1961;62, Rootes Motors Ltd. made a profit in the year ended July 31 last of £129,496.

E.N.V. Expansion: Work is now under way on the expansion of the E.N.V. Engineering Co. Ltd. plant at Ayciiffe, Co, Durham, which is having about 100,000 sq. ft. of floor space added The production area of the works will be increased by some 80 per cent, and this new capacity will be devoted principally to the output of commercial-vehicle transmissions and axles.
