Three Granted: Three B-licensed vans with 70-mile operating 'radius were granted to H. Cornick and Son.Ltd. by the South Eastern Licensing Authority, Mr. II. J. Thom, at Southampton on Tuesday; after discussions, three objectors withdrew on the bid being reduced from five vehicles, but Hill. and Sons (Botley and Dcnrnead) Ltd. maintained their objection. The application arose though the closure of the Batten's Organization warehouse at I-Iambic and the transfer of Storage and handling to the Cornick warehouse at Southampton.

Contract Switch Rid Refused: The Eastern Licensing Authority, after a three-day hearing, refused an application by Fast Freights (Road Haulage) Ltd., of King's Lynn, for a Contract A to A licence switch (see The Commercial Motor, November 15).

One-year A Licence Granted: The Metropolitan Licensing Authority, Mr.' D. I. R. Muir. on Wednesday granted a four-vehicle A licence to G. A. Sinfield and Son (London) Ltd., with the user "general goods, 200 miles Mr. Muir restricted the period of the licence to one year only, to enable the objectors and himself to see whether traffic carried came up to the expectation of the witnesses. The four vehicles had been operating under shortterm Heerlen.
