Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ON a recent .visit to Dodge Brothers (Britain), Ltd., Kew, we noted a striking 20-seater coach of semi-streamlined design. Having as its basis the Dodge P.L.B. passenger chassis, the coachwork is a product of W. L. Thurgood, Park Road, Ware, and embodies a novel design of sliding door.

A feature of this door is that it fits flush with the body side and does not necessitate a recess in the panelling, either inside Or outside. This advantage is gained by swinging the door on two tracks, one running the length of the door opening and the other transversely. In each case the runner is mounted on a swivel, so that as the door is opened it turns into a position parallel to the front bulkhead. The accompanying illustration shows the position of the door when open.

On the vehicle we inspected, the door was equipped with a normal slam-type lock with an inside and outside handle. At the same time we understand that the door can be easily equipped with the necessary handle and linkage, enabling it to be operated from the driver's seat. In this case the slam lock and handles are dispensed with.

An advantage gained by the use of this single-panel sliding door is that a wider opening is available for entry and egress, 'Furthermore, ',fewer moving parts are required than on the straight-track type, and it should prove free

from. rattle. .

An Easiway folding roof is another noteworthy feature of this coach. It is hand operated and can quickly be

opened or. closed. Full-length parcel racks are provided, file lighting is of the ,modern diffused rty.pe and a clock is incorporated, in the front bulkhead.

Ample legroom is afforded, and the seats and cushions are upholstered in a moquette of attractive design. The coach is priced at £.573.
