As well as being the traditional starting place for a growing round of summer shows, Truckfest Peterborough is still the biggest on the circuit...

At this year's Truckfest Peterborough, organiser Live Promotions crammed more than 1,300 shining exhibits into the East of England Showground — up from around 900 in recent years. For many regulars, this was a welcome development, as more competitors meant a much better atmosphere.

Unsurprisingly, many manufacturers used Truckfest as a showcase for their wares — and high-spec was the name of the game. Metallic paint, lightbars, alloy wheels, flat-screen TVs and DVD players were among the retrofitted goodies. "Unlike the CV Show, we actually take deposits here," one salesman revealed.

Truckfest is still well supported by manufacturers, operators and drivers. Even in these times of economic uncertainty, many still see the cost of attending such an event as a price well worth paying.
