Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

for British Railways, r"k objecting to an application by F. and M. Coaches Ltd., of Birmingham, for an express service to connect with an early morning boat from Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire, Mr. A. I. F. Wrottesley admitted that the applicants had made out a prima facie case, but claimed that his evidence had rebutted it entirely.

West Midland Traffic Commissioners. sitting in Birmingham on Tuesday. reserved their decision. F. and M. are seeking a Friday service from Birmingham, picking up at Wolverhampton. between Whitsun and the end of September.

Mr. Wrottesley said there had been little evidence of uncomfortable journeys on the very reasonable service offered by the railways. He suggested that the Commissioners might consider that as only one witness from Wolverhampton had given evidence, the part of the application concerning that town could be discounted.

Crosville Motor Services Ltd. objected on the grounds that the proposed service would abstract traffic from their service connecting with the Irish boat from Liverpool.

Mr. D. E. Skelding, appearing for F. and M., submitted that the Crosville objection was not a responsible one. With a boat crossing of 91 hours from I.iverpool compared with 4 hours from Holyhead, it was of no value to people living in the West Midlands.

Evidence had been given that his client's proposed service would attract new traffic.
