Title ACHESHIRE president was appropriately elected at the annual general meeting of the Furniture Warehousemen and Removers Association, held in Chester on Thursday of last week. He is Mr. Thomas Ormesher, of , Stockport. Other officials to be elected were Major W. Taylor, MC., and Mr. J. Riley as vice-presidents, Mr. G. H. Goode, chairman of standing sub-committee, and Mr. Victor Brown, hon. treasurer.

The conference considered a change of title, and, in order to describe more adequately the nation-wide activities, it was decided that the Association should, in future, be known as the National Association of Furniture Warehousemen and Removers.

At the opening of the Thursday afternoon session of the conference, a civic reception was given by the Mayor (Councillor T. Davies-Jones). Considerable interest was created by the East Lancashire Centre delegates, who arrived in a coach and four, driven by Mr. A. F. Holden, of A. F. Holden and Co., Ltd., the big Manchester concern of removers.

On Friday, delegates were entertained to luncheon by the East Lancashire Centre. Mr. Ormesher presided. During Friday afternoon a river trip was made to Eaton Hall, where, by permission of the Duke of Westminster, the gardens were inspected.

Mr. R. M. Hilburn (London) was elected president of the British Association of International Furniture Removers, at the general meeting of that body (in conjunction with the F.W.R.A. conference). Mr. R. V. Stanford (Dublin) was elected vice-president.
