The Board of Trade returns for April, 1936, show that the value of commercial vehicles, cars, chassis and accessories imported was £459,426, which contrasts with £451,113 for April, 1935, and £254,354 for April. 1934.

The number of complete commercial vehicles exported fell in value, but increased in number, the former, at £76,478, comparing with £87,308 in April, 1935, and the latter, at 266, contrasting with 182 for April last year.

£80,000,000 Spent on German Roads.

Last year £40,000,000 was spent on road construction in Germany, according to the report of the engineering company which has been carrying out the work of building the great new motor roads. At the end of the present year, the company expects to have 620 miles of roads ready for traffic: The total amount spent up to date on the roads, during Herr Hitler's regime, is estimated at £80,000,000.
