Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN AMERICA considerable use is made

of the armoured motor vehicle for the transport of bullion and other valuables. Roadside hold-ups, as they are called, have made it imperative to employ some means whereby the nefarious work of desperadoes is made more difficult, and the speedy motor vehicle equipped with an armour-protected body has offered the best solution of the problem.

A typical vemete emp:oyed is -this -class of service is illustrated on this page. It has recently been supplied to the Department of Street Railways of the City of Detroit, and the chassis is a 2tanner, produced in the works of the Standard Motor Truck Co., of Detroit., Mich., U.S.A. The vehicle is used by the authorities for the daily transport of the money collected on the city car services, which is taken from the various garages located at the terminals of the services on the outskirts of the city to the banks, end vice versa.

The body is completely protected with special armour-plate steel, the sides and the back being -covered with a little heavier metal than that employed for the roof and floor. There are three lights in each side of the body which aem pro

tected by steel bars. The driver's COM. partment, is separated from the body proper by a partition lined with the same weight of armoured plating used on the panels of the body. The glass employed in the body and the driver's cab is bullet-proof, e very necessary precaution in the circumstances.

The operation of the step at the rear of the body is controlled from inside the body, whilst it is possible, by a special locking device installed, to stop the vehicle independently of the driver. AU doors are fitted with Yale locks.
