Sex discrimination case against TNT is rejected. Peter Swingier reports.

AGENCY lorry loader has lost er compensation claim for sexual iscrimination, allegedly involving truck driver, against TNT (UK) ecause she was too late registering er documents with Birmingham '_,mployment Tribunal.

Beverley Newman, of Cannock, taffs, alleged the driver indecently xposed himself to her as she xided his truck at TNT's 'annockdepot.Newman lso alleged he sexually arassed her.

She made her allega[ons at a preliminary caring, which had to ecide whether to allow er to go ahead with her [aim despite not registerig her claim within the tree-month deadline. The tribunal was told the firm carried out a full investigation into the alleged incident after the driver had been suspended. The police were also called in. No evidence of an offence was found: the driver was reinstated and Newman was removed from her job.

TNT denied the allegations and pointed out she had been an agency worker and not an employee.

Newman said one of the reasons for the late entry was because of delays in receiving advice on her case.

The tribunal rejected Newman's claim because it had been made beyond the three-month deadline.
