A SURVEY carried out for Ford on 'white van man' (WVM) has unearthed some surprising facts, such as 43% of WVMs interviewed eat organic food.
The survey was designed to dispel some of the myths about WVM. For example, a previous survey found that 68% of the driving public believe WVMs are tattooed; in the Ford survey only 33% of respondents owned up to body art.
What's more,71 % consider themselves 'careful and considerate drivers' and 74% think the terinWVM is insulting and doesn't apply to them (although 64% do drive vans that are white).
Judging by the survey the typical WVM is male, in his early forties, is married/cohabiting (84%) and wants to retire early (41%). His favourite foods are curry (14%), roast dinners (14%), Chinese (12%) and pasta (12%).
When it comes to keeping informed on current affairs he favours The Sun (38%), while his favourite sport is, wait for it, football (79%).
And, van manufacturers please note, 41% of WVMs think their van should be more comfortable than their car.
