Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Transport refrigeration specialist Carrier Transicoid Europe (CIE) has launched a range of slim-fine multi-temperature evaporators. t has also extended its Xarios range of direct-drive units.

Suitable for load volumes from 25m3 to 90m, the slim-line evaporators give operators the choice of four single-discharge and four dual-discharge units. The use of composite material is said to make them 30% lighter than rival products, while a rearmounted water drain makes installation easier in narrow compartments.

The two new Xarlos models are the 150 and the 200. Both can pull the temperature of a load area down to -20°C: the 150 is suitable

for volumes up to 15m3, while its stahlemate can handle up to 22m3. The condenser weighs 30kg in both cases, or 53kg with a standby unit. The evaporators weigh 12kg and 17kg respectively.

Both units come with a hot gas defrost system, and can be run at 12V or 24V. They use the same microprocessors as the other Xarios models.

CTE predicts an enormous growth in refrigerated transport in Europe over the next decade, with home delivery driving demand.

"The foot-and-mouth outbreak will cause only a short-term blip," says CTE's president Jean-Pierre Levrey.
