DIAL-A-RIDE services for the disabled will cover the whole of Greater London from the beginning of next month. With the introduction of services in Barking and Havering Greater London Council-funded schemes will then operate in every borough.
Eighty special minibuses, mainly Renault Trafics, will provide 30,000 journeys per month for passengers of any age with any type of disability. Fares are broadly the same as those charged on conventional public transport.
• Dial-a-J-1de. vehicles in Greater London will be allowed to use all with-flow bus lanes on non-trunk roads. The GLC is planning a new regulation allowing this facility to come into effect in the autumn.
