Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A series of hydraulic gear pumps is being produced by T. Webster, under licence to Webster Electric.

Known as the Series K, the pumps have been used in America for applications to earthmovers, cranes, lift trucks. agricultural machinery and so on. A range of five pumps have flow capacities from 19 gal /min to 38 gal /min at 2500 rpm. They are designed for operating speeds up to 3000 rpm and working pressures of 2500 psi, with peaks up to 3250 psi.

Wear plates of the pressure balanced type, anti-friction sleeve bearings and precision machined gears and shafts are said to contribute to a high performance and durability.

The pumps can be employed in dual and triple combinations, driven by a common shaft, and can be supplied with a built-in flow-divider to take the place of the normal end cover and to provide two independent circuits from a single pump. One circuit, protected by an integral relief valve, has priority so that constant flow is always available for a critical function, for example power steering, irrespective of system pressure. Pump design enables pipework to be reduced and outside valves to be dispensed with.
