O Ford's eight-speed, all-synchromesh gearbox is now available on the company's R series psv chassis models as an option. At the same time chassis now include a no-loss cooling system and the interior heating is improved by increasing the water flow to the heater. • A power-assisted clutch is now fitted which reduces pedal effort by 50 per cent. The durability of the front springs has been increased and this ensures that the attitude of the vehicle is maintained during chassis life. Fuel shut-off is now operated by cable instead of an electrically operated solenoid and cold starting has been improved by the use of a cable-operated excess fuel device.
