For eteveral years he has been marketing manager of Black and Decker at Harmondsworth, and is succeeded in that post by MR. J. P. JAMIESON, branch manager of the Manchester office. Mr. Boyce will plan a programme of expansion in the Australasian markets to absorb the increasing output from the new factory being built near Melbourne.

MR. N. C. BREARLEY is resigning his directorships of Hepworth and Grandage. Ltd., and subsidiaries, as from July 1. to take up full-time duties as chairman of the management committee of Associated Engineering Holdings. Ltd.. the parent company.

MR. NORMAN E. NICHOLSON (G. Nicholson. Ltd., Sheffield) has been elected chairman of Direct Motor Services. Ltd., the Sheffield haulage group. His father was a founder-member in 1911 and became its chairman. MR. E. J. SHAW (W. Caudle and Co., Ltd., Sheffield) is the new vice-chairman.

MR. R. G. Torrv, the new president of the Institute of Public Cleansing, was this week said to be progressing satisfactorily. Mr. Topy. who is cleansing superintendent and transport manager at Stoke-on-Trent, was taken seriously ill last week while attending the Public Cleansing Conference at East bou rne.

MR. B. X. JESSOP has succeeded MR. C. G. G. DANDRIDGE as a member of the East Anglia Transport Users Consultative Committee; MR. H. G. N. READ has replaced MR. W. B. CARTER on the East Midland committee, and MR. E. W. ARKLE has succeeded MR. T. W. PoLoit4ri on the north-western committee. Members of British Railways, Mr. Jessop. Mr. Read and Mr. Arkle are nominees of the British Transport Commission.

MR. J. W. P. SCOTT and MR. G. SMITH have been appointed divisional stores officers of British Road Services. Mr. Scott leaves the post of works accountant, Linlithgow. to take up his new duties in the North Western Division at Manchester. Mr. Smith, who was Midland divisional store superintendent at Leicester, has gone to the Birmingham offices of the division. Mr. Scott was at one time with Edinburgh Transport Department.
