C-LICENCE REPRESENTATIONS

D EPRESENTATIONS have • been IX made by the Traders' Road: Transport Associatiop to the Ministry t of Transport, seeking. an amendment to present regulation a so that when' it is necessary for a C licence, to be surrendered for replatement by a new licence, the unexpired period of validity could be allowed for.

The matter arises when, for example, as business is converted into a 'limited liability company and a new entity is set up causing it to be necessary for a new C licence in the new name to be obtained. As the law •stands, no allowance of any kind is made for the unexpired period of validity for the old licence. Where a number of vehicles is concerned, the licensing fee may be appreciable, and equity seems 'to call for some adjustment of the jaw, says the T.R.T.A.
