Trying to provoke TSM into action oave us a chance to try out the latest addition to the Mercedes van range, a 3,500kg towing capacity on some versions of the Sprinter. This puts the Sprinter into the same league as traditionally serious towing tools like Land Rover and the Toyota Land Cruiser, with only the Iveco Daily competing in the 3.5-tonne van market. To ensure a safe power-toweight ratio, the 3,500kg ability is available on all Sprinter variants with 160hp or more.
