Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Transporter 15 Tiptronic

After our extended drive in the new Caddy TDI we found time to sample a Caravelle 15 with VW's answer to the growing trend for two-pedal automated transmissions, the Tiptronic.

Available now as a £1,000 (ex-VAT) option on the Transporter T30 (3,000kg GWi) 128hp TDI model, it features six forward gears with 'normal and 'sports' self-changing modes. In 'normal' mode moving the lever to the side puts the system in Tiptronic, allowing gears to be changed manually with a nudge of the lever.

Although time dldn't permit an exhaustive test our first impressions were that the automated changes were well timed, and smoothly and quickly executed. Manual changes were easy, thanks to the well-placed dashmounted lever, although our experience suggests that after the initial novelty users tend to leave the electronics to do the work.

'Sports' mode makes a significant difference to the character, being better matched to the engine's torque characteristics than some similar systems.
