• The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers (FER) has affiliated with the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI).
One of the first moves is to jointly lobby for a legal definition of the terms "reconditioned" and "remanufactured" as applied to engines.
The FER's pension, insurance, marketing, advertising and legal matters will be handled from RMI 's London headquarters but its offices will remain in Guiseley, Leeds.
FER executive-secretary David Gardener says the move will help the FER's voice be heard while helping the RMI build membership and allowing it to speak with greater authority
