• The UK's plans for bringing dangerous goods transport rules into line with the EC will be published by the New Year, says the Health and Safety Commission which is responsible for implementing them.

The HSC consultation document will form the basis of a replacement to the Road Tanker Regulations of 1992 and the Packaged Goods Regulations. It will also widen the scope of the Driver Training Regulations to include rail freight transport for the first time haulage industry training is unaffected.
