• The Swedish practice of combining passenger and freight services covering its sparsely populated northern areas is exemplified by a 20m Van Hool/Volvo B10 articulated bus/parcels outfit.
The front section carries up to 54 passengers: the van-bodied trailing section offers 36m3 of load space for Linjebuss's
PCV/fast parcels service. Fitted out by Plastkarosser, the 4.0m high rear section will hold up to 5.5 tonnes of freight and a heavyduty tail-lift can handle preassorted packages in roll cages.
In Sweden trucks have a 70km/h top speed limit but 2.6mwide bus/freighters like this are permitted to run at the PCV limit of 90km/h.
