• European trailer rental group Tiphook has reported a £21,8m (36%) fall in its profits to £55.5m for the year to the end of April. However the group plans to expand its core business this year by adding 1,000 new trailers to its fleet of 24,500 units. The purchase will include more reefers and cuitainsiders compared with last year, but new vans, tilts, skeletals and swapbodies have also been ordered from preferred suppliers Schmitz and Bellguese. Rental rates rose by an average of 7% and utilisation of trailers after disposals rose to 75%, according to the company.
