Thank you for the credit you gave me in a roundabout way in Noel Miller's article "People problems" (CM June 24) on the life of the present traffic manager at Guards of London.

This goes to prove my theory that, if you set up a good machine properly and with enough thought into the possible problems, then it can operate for years without any major overhaul. Sadly, I note that the company is only sub-contracting 60 coaches per day. This, I feel, is where my efforts have broken down, as records can prove I was sub-contracting 100 coaches per day for some periods, plus my own fleet of 20.
