Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The latest development of the Ford Co. refers to the manufacture of agricultural tractors. New plant is being laid down and the plans are being made with a view to the eventual employment of 20,000 men and the manufacture of approximately 500,000 tractors a year.

In discussing his new plans Henry Ford made many interesting statements and comments. He has, at the present time, dierevered that difficulties in obtaining materials, owing to the fact that firms having war crrdecs are receiving first preference, are causing disturbance in his manufacturing plans. In an endeavour i to avoid n future any repetition of such conditions, he is arranging now to have his own blast fnrnaces and steel shops, sntending to pursh ase ore, get it on his own ships Ind bring it direct to his own orks

for some years working quietly upon the problem of the farm tractor and has made several and tried them all in actual farming conditions on his own land. He claims that he has now got a tractor that will do the work and do it well, the cost being so low that it will be only a question of .a few years before the farmers will be faced with a new problem, that of the disposition of the horse.

An Anirrican Chassis Showroom.

..A miniature show of high-grade Ameriaan commercial vehicles is to be found at Gaston, Williams and Wigmore,'s new premises at Alexandria House, Kingsway. A large and well-lighted ground_ floor is occupied by no fewer than five specimens of American construction. On a recent visit we saw a two-ton Selden, a three-ton Peerless, a couple of Pa.ekards, a fourton Kelly-Springfield and Also a three-ton Locornobile. The premises are not yet in a state of completion. Temporarily the offices are situated on the first floor, but when the final arrangements are made the whole of the business arrangements will be conducted on the ground floor, the offices being to the rear of the showroom. There is every evidence that this company is making a bold bid for a position on the English market, both now and in the future when the war is over and more normal conditions appertain. We were informed by the manager, Mr. Good, that o. large stock of necessary spare parts is being kept and also that the company is making arrangements for agencies in all the principal districts.
