Since its launch to European Parliamentarians four months ago, Optifuel has been engaged in a number of over-the-road proving trials. Only don't think its all a matter of pure research because, intriguingly, Renault says those tests will "validate consumption findings with the view to launching the product by the end of 2010". Meanwhile, Renault reckons: "This innovative concept pushes European legislation to its limits—and the Optifuel Solutions Generation 2010 demonstrator can be pushed even further beyond the envelope and lengthened by several tenths of centimetres to take up the challenge to reduce heavy-duty truck consumption and cut CO, emissions."
