EPIC says that drivers visiting quarries or construction stes should be particularly aware of the following health and safety concerns:
• They should be aware of interacting with other vehicles and pedestrians on site, because rules of the road are not always observed *Take care of the environment by making sure their wheels are washed before returning to the pubic highway
• Be aware of site hazards such as overhead power cables. These have caused the death of more than one tipper driver • Make sure loads are secure • Take the appropriate safety precautions when carrying lwardous materials • Take particular care when entering a site because quite often the entrance can be very tight
• They should only carry out the maintenance to the vehicle they are qualified to do; if they are not qualified, they should enlist the appropriate help
• Show general courtesy
