LONDON-BASED coach operator Len Wright Travel has launched a new London to Manchester and Lancashire coach service to rival the National Express Rapids.

The Len Wright London Statesman service offers three departures a day from London's Gloucester Road coach station and Manchester's Ducie Street coach station, Bury, Accrington and Blackburn.

The service is at present being operated with Van Hool Acron and Astrornega coaches. A full hostess refreshment service and video films are featured. The firm also has plans to establish a depot in Manchester to support both the Statesman service and holiday and tour business in the area.

The London Statesman has similar fares to the National Express Rapide, and with special concessionary fares for children and students.
