(\N Tuesday, after British Railways had withdrawn their objection, the South Wales Licensing Authority granted the application of W. J. Clayton and Sons Ltd. of Little Oaks, Rogerstone, Mon., for a number of A licences for the transport of aluminium to North-West England, London and South East England.

Mr. C. Rosser John, for the applicants, described it as a tidying up operaation. He explained that Clayton and Sons already held short-term A licences to expire shortly in respect of three artics of 19.1 tons. In addition, they now required A licences for It tippers andone drop-sided truck which operated mainb, for the alkaline industry. ' If granted, it would enable them to consolidate the present confused situation and at the same time provide a more flexible service.

New Scottish Bus Services: The Scottish Traffic Commissioners last week granted an application by David MaeBrayne Ltd. to run a bus service from Ohan to Fort William. The service will run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from May to September, and will replace the service formerly operated by MacBrayne's Loch Nevis steamer. Also granted was an application by W. Alexander and Sons (Midland) Ltd. to run a bus service from Ohan to Dalmally if the Glasgow-Ohan -rail route via Callander is closed. This will he in addition to Alexander's present GlasgowOhan service via Dalmally.
