ACALL to Welsh local authorities to co-operate "and do' more to improve their roads, also to press the Severn Bridge scheme, was made by the Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Aid. Sir James Collins, when he spoke to the Corporation of Secretaries last Saturday.
He said that it was necessary to spend money now to maintain the roads in proper condition. "There is. a tendency nowadays to-try and throw off responsibilities, and many people who are out to keep the rates down are simply avoiding the true situation and are storing up trouble for the future."
