Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

USERS OF commercial vehicles are often faced with the problem of obtaining spare parts at very short notice, any delay resulting in the laying up of the vehicle concerned and the consequent loss of time and money. The position is doubly difficult in the case of users who bought up a number of American war-time lorries in the years succeeding the Armistice, for some of which spare parts are well-nigh impossible to obtain. To meet the needs of these people, and, incidentally, those using lorries of other makes, is the specific object of Automotive Spares, Ltd.

This concern has a large and weal. planned stores at 178, King's Road, Chelsea, London, in which an enormous stock of spares of every description is kept. Returns are made from the stores to the office daily, showing the exact position of the stock, so that any part.which is deficient in numbers can be immediately requisitioned. In many cases where new parts cannot be obtained by any other means, these are specially made. Anything is tackled, from a split-pin to a cylinder block or back axle.

A great point, is made of dealing with orders with the utmost rapidity, and in going to any length to obtain the part, should it not be in stock at the moment. The latter emergency does not often arise, 'because, in the ordinary way, the stock carried covers every well-known make of American Jerry; and, in addition, practically every. British type the supplies for which are in any way difficult to obtain.

The Spicer universal joint, which is used on a large percentage of American lorries, is kept in all sizes by Automotive Spares, Ltd., and in several cases joints of this type have been supplied to replace those formerly used on a customer's vehicle. The Spicer joint is of the star type, with readily renewable bushes, and is totally enclosed by a spherical dust cover..
