PRE-TAX PROFITS for Devereux Developments, the Cleveland-based road haulage operator, dropped by almost £100,000 to £85,000 last year.
Operating profit fell to £139,000 in the financial year ending 31 March 2006, compared with £238,000 the year before.
Short-term debts fell by £188,000 to £2.3m, with trade creditors owed £354,000.
Wages and salaries increased by £100,000 to more than £3.7m; the workforce grew from 171 to 175.
The firm's directors, who include Anthony, Michael and Kenneth Devereux, declined to comment.
